Multiscale Modelling of Plant Physiology and Development
CLand and Saclay Plant Sciences (SPS) networks are organizing a first meeting (in videoconference), which aims at fostering interactions and common research projects between the two communities.
CLand is a Convergence Institute funded by the French government in 2017 to perform in the next decade the research urgently needed on land-management solutions for managing the ecological and energy transitions of the 21st century. It aims to support the activity of 200 researchers in 12 teams and develop a graduate program across Master and Doctoral schools of the University of Paris-Saclay, in partnership with European and international institutes.
The Saclay Plant Sciences network (SPS) was created through the French “Investments for the Future” program in 2011. It gathers around 50 research teams working on plant sciences in five laboratories from the southern Paris area, as well as several teaching programs, among which a Master program and a Doctoral School entirely dedicated to plant sciences.
Program
There will be two international guests:
- Oskar Franklin (Agriculture, Forestry, and Ecosystem Services Research Group, Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis – IIASA, Austria)
- Jeremy Harbinson (Department of Agrotechnology and Food Sciences, Wageningen University & Research)
The meeting will be divided into 6 sessions, with talk from members of both communities:
- Photosynthesis and Fluorescence
- N, P and K use efficiency
- Water use efficiency
- Development and Growth
- Multi-scale modelling
- Round table: Modelling needs and appropriate scaling ?
