The objective of this call was to support the co-funding of doctoral projects that will complement and strengthen CLand’s three Challenges.

On April 21, 2021, the candidates were invited to present their project to the Executive Committee of the CLand Convergence Institute. At the end of these hearings, 7 PhD half grants were awarded.

Here are the selected topics:

Francesco ACCATINO & Ruizhen WANG : Trade-offs related to livestock feed consumption and diet composition at the territorial scale: animal production, methane emissions, impact on land use
Rémi CARDINAEL & Souleymane DIOP : Impact of albedo change on the climate benefit of conservation agriculture in sub-humid Zimbabwe
Philippe DELACOTE & Edouard PIGNEDE : Adaptation to climate change : Inequalities and spatial vulnerability in rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa
Alexandra JULLIEN : Functional-structural modelling of plant-to-plant interactions and C, N budget in legume-based associations
Guy MEUNIER & Maxence GERARD : Regulation of negative externalities from the livestock sectors. Comparisons of instruments, land use changes and norms
Erwan PERSONNE & Maria ERNST : Impact of urbanization and urban greening on climate and air quality
Nicolas VIOVY : Impact of functional diversity richness on ecosystem resilience and adaptation to climate change: introduction of functional diversity in vegetation models
