Results of the first CLAND call for PhD half grants

The aim of this call was to support co-funding of PhD projects that complement and enhance the three challenges of CLAND. 

On May 29, 2020, the candidates were invited to present their project to the Executive Committee of the CLAND Convergence Institute. At the end of these hearings, 5 PhD half grants were awarded.

Here are the selected topics:

  1. Laure Barthès (ESE) & Mubarak MAHMUD : Leached nitrate recovery by trees, transformation dynamics and use in agroforestry system
  2. Abad Chabbi (ECOSYS) & Asma JERRAY : Evaluating nitrous oxide emissions as an unintended consequence of increased soil carbon sequestration in managed grassland systems 
  3. Philippe Delacote (ECOPUB) & Léa CREPIN : Soybean trade and imported deforestation
  4. Fabienne Maignan (LSCE) & Lucas LEVERNE : Regulation of photosystem II in the context of a changing environment
  5. Philippe Martin (SADAPT) & Arthur FENDRICH : Soil erosion effects on the European carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus balances
